Villa Description

Villa Delle Palme is one of the British Virgin Islands most elegant and gracious homes. It was designed by Jon Osman, who is also responsible for Richard Branson’s Necker Island mansion and was professionally decorated for use as a private residence. The current owners have extensively refurbished the Villa and decided to make it available for vacation renters when they are not using it. The Villa sits on two acres overlooking Brewer's Bay on Tortola's lush northwest side. The Villa boasts some of the most spectacular landscaping in the British Virgin islands.

An electronic gate opens to the long, palm-lined driveway that ends in a covered parking area at the Villa. Built on three levels, the main entry floor includes a great room that has three walls of custom mahogany windows that reveal stunning, almost unbelievable views. French doors open to the West Indian verandah that permits alfresco dining and offers a sitting area with views of the glorious gardens, islands in the distance, the endless ocean, the sound of tropical birdsong and the cool trade winds. The great room includes a formal dining area, a newly redone, well equipped kitchen with custom mahogany cabinets, a formal sitting area and an area for TV and DVD viewing.

The main level's east wing includes an office decorated with antique sailing-ship flag prints and a powder room. Further into the east wing is the air-conditioned master suite. The suite is furnished with a mahogony four-poster king bed, a dressing area and a newly redone, large bath. The master suite also offers a private balcony that provides views of the garden and the sea.

The Villa's second level is in the west wing, 1/2 a flight of stairs down from the main level. The west wing is entered through a 3 story tall stairwell and a corridor dotted with antique prints, original pastel drawings and oil paintings. The west wing houses the Terracotta suite and the Monkey suite. Both suites are queen bedded, air-conditioned and have private baths. Both have vine covered balconies that allow views of the landscaping and the sea.

Another half level down is the air-conditioned Patio Suite. It is furnished with two queen beds and includes a private bath. This suite permits direct access to the patio level of the Villa.

Throughout the Villa and in every suite the tile floors are strewn with oriental carpets and the walls are decorated with original art and antique prints. The furniture throughout the house is first quality, manufactiured mostly by Baker, one of America's most respected furniture companies.

Slightly below the third level of the Villa is the tiled patio. This large area is divided into three parts on two levels. The center section offers a full size, 7 foot deep swimming pool, several chairs shaded by the verandah above and a hammock.

At the east end of the patio and up four steps is a newly refurbished barbegue/dining area. It includes a built-in barbegue grill, a new second kitchen/bar and a new custom made dining table that seats up to 6 people.

At the far end of the dining area a winding path leaves the patio and leads through a small fruit-tree orchard and into the terraced hillside landscaping.

At the west end of the patio is a sun deck with four chaise-longue and another custom made table for casual snacks.

First class in every way, Villa Delle Palme is highly recommended by former guests.
